35 years in the making : Diane & Nancy’s City Hall Wedding 7/22/14
When my phone rang one Monday afternoon I was not expecting it to be a couple looking for a photographer the next day!! But I was so excited once I chatted a bit with them and even happier that I was available. They have been together for 35 years and decided to come down to Chicago from Wisconsin to get married. The plan was just to get the marriage license and come back in a few weeks for the ceremony. Once they got here they decided that they’ve waited so long, why wait one more day?!
Thus started a whirlwind of a day in motion as they put the rest of the pieces together. While they were buying bands and picking out outfits I was doing a little prepping of my own in hopes of suprising them. They had told me when we chatted that they were both in the TV industry so I went in search of a location for photos that would represent them and give us an indoor option as it was one of the few 90+ days we had this summer.
I met them down at city hall for an emotional ceremony in which they wrote vows to each other. We then headed around downtown with stops at the iconic Chicago Theater and the nearby LaSalle bridge for some city views. Then it was time for my suprise visit to the Museum of Broadcast Communications! I came across this while I was searching for a place and contacted them in the off chance that they would let us shoot there. Not only did they say yes, but they were super accomodating and welcoming! A BIG thank you to Shannon for allowing us to drop by! It was a great option and they loved it!
Thank you to Diane and Nancy for allowing me to be a part of your wedding day. It was truly a pleasure.
Here are some of my favorites!
