Over the years I’ve had the privilege of shooting several weddings for friends, but this was the first time one of them booked with Elope to Chicago!
I knew Liz before Liz knew Josh. And I knew that she was an amazing women, with a huge heart and a hint of badass (it’s the Italian I think ;). So I knew that is was going to take a pretty incredible man to take her off the market. Enter Josh. He’s roughly 5 feet taller than her ( I might be over exaggerating just a touch), but the second the two of them are together it doesn’t make sense that they were ever apart. They are a blast to hang out with, so I can only imagine that they’ve got a lifetime of laughter ahead of them.
When they got engaged they decided to go a little non-traditional and do a very small ceremony with immediate family and a few friends on Friday and then a larger party on Saturday night. So after Kate got Liz and her soon to be step daughter Anna ready I met all three of them at Lincoln Park for some photos.
We had a gorgeous day and strolled around for a bit before walking over to the Lily Pool to meet everyone else. I love that they walked down the aisle together and their vows were both funny and sweet – just like them. After their I do’s and some photos at the pool we headed to nearby Hotel Lincoln to enjoy a celebratory cocktail before they headed out to dinner with their families.
