Chicago Skyline Elopement : Tracy & Tony 8/28/15

I am in love with these two. I don’t think I’ve ever laughed, cried and smiled as much in a 4 hour period as I did photographing their elopement. They are head over heels in love with each other and it shows. Tracy and Tony if you are reading this let’s please hang out again!

I met them at their hotel for some getting ready shots. I love many things about elopements, but there is something so awesome about spending the entire day together that just gets me. From him helping her zip up her wedding gown to laughing as they  googled how to use cufflinks (awesome Grateful Dead ones) I knew from the first moments that it was going to be a special day.

They wanted to make sure we made it a few iconic Chicago spots so they added extra photo time with me (yah!). We headed to Lurie Garden for some pre ceremony photos before heading out to Museum Campus to meet Rev. Marian.

It’s no secret that I tear up at most wedding ceremonies ( I hide it behind the camera), but this ceremony had me crying like a baby. Their vows were so heartfelt and they each had their mother’s write a letter to them that Rev. Marian read during the ceremony. They hadn’t heard them prior to the ceremony so that was a tearjerker! Elopement ceremonies are much more personal and special to me (but I might be biased!). And although they didn’t invite any guests a tour bus was going by and they got some cheers and honks from them as they said I do and did their first kiss! Right after the ceremony Tracy had tears (of joy) streaming down her face and I remember her turning to me and just saying ” I love him so much.”  I wish I could freeze that moment forever because it’s exactly why I do what I do. That feeling of love and overwhelming joy in my couples makes me the happiest gal in the world 🙂

This post is getting sappy….. haha. After we dried our tears and did a few photos with the skyline we headed back to Cloudgate aka “the bean” and Millennium Park. We ended the evening at Buckingham Fountain for some night photos with the skyline lit up behind them.

Here are some of my favorite (okay a ton of favorites). Congrats!
