The Crown at Tribune Tower Elopement: Tina + Joe 4/3/18
If ever there was proof that rain on your wedding day doesn’t have to be a bad thing, this is it! For months Tina and Joe had been planning their wedding at the historic Tribune Tower. When the day finally rolled around it was rain, rain and more rain! Some periods were heavier than others, but that wasn’t going to phase them.
They said their “I do’s ” as it sprinkled and was very cold! But there were no complaints! They laughed and smiled and rocked the umbrellas like pros. And they did a mimosa unity ceremony which is quite possibly the best thing I’ve ever seen at a wedding and I’m totally going to steal it!
Honestly the rain photos are some of my favorites. Of course if it’s pouring down rain and storming it’s a different story, but thankfully we were still able to make our scheduled photo stops.
Since this wedding happened the Tribune Tower has been sold so the fate of The Crown is up in the air right now. No one is sure if it will still be available for events or if it will be become a private space for the residents as they are turning part of the building into condos (ugh). My fingers are crossed that it will remain a space you can get married at because it’s one of a kind!
I’d also like to send a big shout out to Thompson Hotel for allowing us to take some photos there at the end of our session. The couple was staying there and I asked about it before we headed out in case the rain picked up and they were so welcoming and friendly! Thank you!
