First Half of 2022 Recap!
It’s been an embarrassing amount of time since I’ve blogged. I think I did like 2 blog all of last year.
We’ve been so so so busy and so grateful to work with the most amazing couples. Since the second half of 2020 when things reopened a bit it’s been 200mph all the way.
So while I don’t think I’ll ever find time to blog each elopement/wedding like I used to I wanted to jump on and post a quick recap of this year so far so we had some updated work here. These are just a few of the elopements and weddings we’ve done this year (not even all of them).
I’m also going to answer a few of the most asked questions we get below here too! Enjoy!
Where do we start?
To legal get married in Cook County you need a marriage license. It MUST be issued in Cook county and it is good for 60 days. You need to get it at least the day before the wedding for it to be valid. The offices are only open Monday-Friday so if you’re getting married on a Monday you need to get it the Friday before. More info here – https://www.cookcountyclerkil.gov/vital-records/marriage-civil-union/marriage-licenses
And from there once you contact us we will help you figure out locations, if you need permits, what is the best time of day and so much more.
What’s up with City Hall wedding right now?
City Hall is still appointment only. They don’t do a great job of updating their website, but you can call 312-603-5660 and the message there provides the most up to date info on how far out they are booking and what is still open.
You can no longer just walk into City Hall and get married. And you can only have 2 people with you. Yes some couples have been ignoring that rule and it’s frustrating. On Saturdays there is no way you’ll get around that. During the week it depends a bit more on who the judge is that day. The same goes for if you have to wear your mask during the ceremony or not. I’ve found the last few months have been about 50/50 on if the judge lets you remove it even though we are not under a mask mandate anymore. I don’t make the rules.
If you’re not interested in that uncertainty, we have 2 officiants on our team who can marry you!
How early/late should we book you?
We’ve booked elopements in as little as a day. But if you’re going that route you need to be ready to immediately make decisions. Most of couples book somewhere between a month-3 months in advance. We are only currently booking for 2022.
For any and all questions and inquiries please fill out the contact form and we will get back to you ASAP!
Do you still have weekend availability?
Weekend dates definitely are the first to be booked. We do have some Friday/Sat/Sunday openings in September and beyond.
Our florist is not open on Sundays and for Saturday they will do a Friday delivery.
Our Hair & Makeup team cannot do Saturdays unless you have a later evening ceremony (and even then it just depends on their availability).
Reach out to us ASAP if you’re interested in a specific date!
