Meet Shane and Jim! They contacted me months ago as they were looking to have an intimate weekday wedding in Chicago and came across my facebook page. This was before I even had the site up and all the vendors and packages put together. I was thrilled to meet them when they came in town to look at places for the ceremony and dinner reception. After getting to know them over brunch I couldn’t wait for their wedding day!

As always I was watching the weather like a crazy person (even though it’s usually wrong) and crossing all my fingers and toes that the rain would move out of town before their outdoor rooftop ceremony at Lightology. We got lucky that the downpours all came in the morning, but the fog hung around for the remainder of the day blocking the skyline view a bit, but creating some cool images at the same time.

We spent some time around the city doing photos before meeting up with their families and friends for the ceremony. Lightology is like a little hidden gem in the city. It has so many little areas on the rooftop and of course an amazing view! After they said their I do’s (with awesome personalized vows) we headed out to Joe’s for a dinner reception in one of their private rooms.
