I constantly get asked “what do we do if it rains?” from my elopement couples. Yes I tried to have some form of back up plan, but if I’m being honest some of my favorite photos are from rainy days. I’d prefer not to have a torrential downpour, but some sprinkles or light rain are no reason to run inside if you ask me. Thankfully Alexandra and David felt the same!

I met them at city hall for their ceremony. We knew there was a chance of scattered rain so I cam prepared with my cute umbrellas. When we went to leave city hall it was clear we missed a downpour during the ceremony, but it was only sprinkling a bit so we stuck to the original plan of walking to LaSalle Bridge. They were kind enough to endulge my photo requests to try to get just the right angle for a close up rainy umbrella shot.

The rain backed off as we headed to the Lurie Garden to finish out our session umbrella free. The fog hanging over the skyline made for some cool shots! I love that Alexandra opted to wear a floral dress. Wear what you’re comfortable in! It always makes for better photos!
