The number one question I get asked for many of our elopement is “what if it rains?”

And normally I have ideas and backup options, but for 2020 that is becoming harder than ever as access to our indoor spots is pretty much non-existent.

So what is the other option? Embrace it! Laura and Cruz didn’t even flinch when there was rain in the forecast for pretty much their entire wedding day. I met them at their hotel where Laura was putting the final touches on the bouquet she put together. A first look and a few photos and we grabbed the umbrellas and headed out!

Thankfully it did ease up here and there, and we headed to Union Station for some covered spaces. Being city planners in Boston they wanted to embrace the beautiful buildings and history of Chicago and we did just that.

From there it was off to City Hall to say I do! I’m not going to lie I cried behind my cameras on this one. Not a dry eye left in the room! More rain greeted us on the way out, but they were all smiles as they headed off for drinks and dinner.

If this post teaches us anything it’s that rain on your wedding day isn’t always bad!
