To say I am behind on my blogging would be the understatement of the year. We’ve worked with so many amazing couples this year and things go so busy that I let this slide a bit. But the good news is that now that I’m in my “slow season” you’re going to get to see them all as I play catch up!

First up are Krista and Dan. The #1 thing I love about elopement is that they don’t bring the stress and tensions of a big wedding. The two were cool as cucumbers despite mother nature throwing us some curve balls. The morning of their wedding was a little chilly and rainy. We kept hoping the rain would break before their outdoor ceremony. But ultimately it didn’t and we opted for their hotel. So naturally as soon as we arrived at the hotel it stopped raining! Thankfully The Godfrey allowed us to pop out onto their rooftop for their “I do’s” since it wasn’t open for the day yet. (Thank you!!!)

They were nothing but smiles all day. Krista ordered a bouquet online and instead got a random assortment of flowers in a vase that was nothing like what she ordered. So instead she crafted a bouquet from the flowers she got and the ones Dan had gotten the day before for her. Secured it with a hair tie and she was good to go!

Post ceremony we headed down to the riverwalk where the original place we wanted to do their ceremony was fenced off for repairs to the walkway. So I guess Mother Nature was telling us ahead of time not to go there! No worries though as we laughed and explored downtown. It was that perfect time of the year when all the tulips are in bloom along Michigan Ave so of course a stop there was in order.

Congratulations to Krista and Dan! Thank you for rolling with the punches and being the perfect example of making lemonade out of lemons!
