No April Fools Day Joke here! Just an amazing couple! Despite the chilly temps they were full of life, color and laughs.

I met them at City hall for their I do’s with one friend present. I loved all the details they incorporated into their day. One of their favorite trips as a couple was to Scotland. Bethany incorporated some Scottish thistle into her bouquet and David surprised her with rings made out of a piece of whiskey barrel from that trip! He carried it all over the country and through Customs knowing he wanted to do something special with it.

From City Hall we strolled to LaSalle Bridge and then made a stop for coffee, whiskey and a quick warm up at Goddess and the Baker. A quick shoe and jacket change and we were off to the Art institute. Check out how cute her yellow lemon shoes are! It doesn’t hurt that she loves yellow and it happens to be the color for The University of Iowa. Check out David’s Hawkeye tie! So it was an easy choice for them to incorporate into their wedding day looks.

We ended the day at Miller’s Pub with a couple of Old Fashioned’s that the owner put on his tab! He saw us taking a photo and came out to tell them he wanted to buy them a drink! Chicago may be a big city, but sometimes it’s got a small town feel!
