An engagement session?! Yep we do those too!

You know that first day that actually starts to feel like spring? Where you think – maybe I don’t need a coat that also looks like a bedspread? The first evening that you want to be outside as the sun is going down because it’s finally warm enough to be by the lake? That day was Hanna and Rod’s engagement session.

April is always hit or miss so we really lucked out on the weather. It actually may have been warmer this day than on their city hall wedding a month later! It was still pretty windy, but we’ll take it!  I met them out by the Planetarium for some iconic Chicago skyline views. We roamed around a little bit and waited as the sun started to set and we got that gorgeous golden light. If you time it right you can get light, sunset and the skyline lit up all in less than 2 hours!

I love the Chicago skyline at night. There is something just so beautiful about it and the view out there is the best. I stayed behind for a little bit when our session was over and just enjoyed the first night in months that being by the lake didn’t mean freezing!
