Meet Johanna and Simon and their two adorable daughters. They came to Chicago on a beautiful November day to get married, but didn’t tell the girls until that morning that mom and dad were getting married! They surprised them with a book that told their story and even got their dolls matching flower girl dresses. They were the cutest things.

I especially loved all the details they incorporated. They included a globe with heart push pins for all the places they lived. From Australia to the UK to China and Detroit, they have traveled the world! And their parents tuned in via Skype from their respective times zones to watch the ceremony.

They incorporated the girls in the ceremony with one of them doing a reading and the other being in charge of the rings. They said their I do’s with a beautiful view overlooking the Chicago river. Since it was later in November they opted for an indoor ceremony. You never know what Chicago weather will bring that time of year!

From there we headed out for some photos at the Wrigley Building and walked down to the Bean where they did their first dance surrounded by the city. I left them to continue the celebration by heading to afternoon tea at The Langham with the girls and their dolls!

Here are some (ok a lot) of my favorites. When you see the dress and how cute this family is you will understand why I couldn’t narrow it down. Enjoy!
