Intimate Wedding at Little Goat Diner : Leah + Luis 11/6/15

Welcome to the most wonderful and perfect intimate wedding! I loved every single thing about this day! Leah & Luis contacted me as they were in the early stages of planning their intimate wedding. They were looking for a unique place to have their event for 50ish guests. They are big foodies so having amazing and different food was a must. I immediately suggested Little Goat! Although this was the first time I had shot there I knew they had opened up an event space with a rooftop deck and that the food would be amazing!

They fell in love with the space and the plans quickly come together! They hired our entire team (aka the Dream Team) to help them put together all the pieces of the day. I met them at the hotel where Kate has finished up the hair & makeup for all the girls and had them looking picture perfect! Christine had custom designed the most gorgeous bouquet to compliment their blush color palette for Leah and the girls. After first look at the hotel we headed toward the west loop for photos. A quick stop at Mary Bartleme Park was perfect as we managed to get some skyline views and the very last days of great fall color before the sun when down (it was November after all so it was dark by 5pm!).

From there we headed to Little Goat where guests were arriving. Despite the chilly temps they stuck with the original plan of having the ceremony on the deck (and I’m so glad they did!). It was a particularly challenging lighting situation for me as it was completely dark by ceremony time. But a few speedlights on stands, the glow from the turning goat sign and the city lights ended up being the perfect mix! After the ceremony guests went inside for a cocktail hour and apps (hello goat empanadas!), while we toughed out the cold for some family photos.

After joining their guests the main course was served buffet style so guests could enjoy at their own pace. I love the open air kitchen so you can watch them cook! Leah and Luis enjoyed their meal at the kitchen island – it’s like having dinner in mom’s kitchen! Throughout the night there were some toasts given and the cake was cut while the newlyweds chatting and celebrated with everyone!

Congrats to Leah & Luis!!

I loved how much they incorporated their family history and photos into the day! This whole table was full of previous wedding photos of family and guests. They also created a custom guest book that had a page with photos for each guest to leave them a message!

To keep with their food theme they gave out Little Goat spatulas as favors! They support No Kid Hungry – https://www.nokidhungry.org/.
